In my latest Zuneta order there were quite a few of the Rouge Bunny Rouge products, including the blusher in the colour Habanera. I already have and really like their blusher in the colour Orpheline which I managed to break into pieces but it's still a lovely "loose" blusher, and so I wanted to get a warmer colour for the summer. It was between Habanera and Delicata but based on some online reviews (Modesty Brown, London Makeup Girl) I thought that the Delicata might be too light for my skintone so I decided to go with Habanera.
Habanera is described on the Rouge Bunny Rouge website as medium, sun-warmed terracotta with a hint of rose - Great for any medium complexion. I think the colour is too light to be called a terracotta, to my eye it's more of a light apricot brown. Because of the warm brown undertones it's like a soft blusher and bronzer all in one, although I don't really use it all over my face, just underneath the cheekbones for some added colour and definition. It's not completely matte, it has some very fine gold shimmer but it's not visible when applied, it just adds a soft glow to the cheeks. The texture is lovely, very smooth and it blends beautifully on the skin.
Here are some comparison swatches of some of my other blushers/bronzers that I thought might be similar to Habanera. As you can see Habanera is not as brown as Laguna but it's quite warmer and deeper than the two blushers.
|From left to right we have: RBR Habanera, Benefit Dallas, Mac Blushbaby, NARS Laguna|
The one downside is of course the price, but other than that, I have nothing negative to say about this product - the colour is beautiful, it really suits my skin tone, the texture is smooth, the colour doesn't fade throughout the day and of course the packaging is lovely.
Rouge Bunny Rouge products are available at Zuneta.com and in some brick and mortar stores, the closest to me is actually in Hungary and Italy but it would be great if we had a small counter here in Slovenia as well.
