Chanel Le Crayon Yeux in Berry is one of those gorgeous hard-to-describe colour: it's not quite plum, not really brown or grey and it has a beautiful silvery sheen to it. I've been wearing it a lot this summer, applied on the lower and top lashline with just some mascara on top. It's a much softer way of emphasizing the eyes without going for a black line but it still adds some definitions and I find it really complements my hazel/brown eyes.
The texture of the pencil is very nice - it's not as soft as the Bourjois Smoky Effect liners but it's not harsh on the skin at all and it lasts really well on my oily eyelids. There's also a smudger on the other end of the pencil which I find very much useless - it doesn't really smudge the colour, it just leaves some silver shimmer around the eyes.
For comparison, here is a swatch of Chanel Berry (in the middle), next to the brown eyeliner Bourjois Smoky Effect in Smoked Brown (on the left) and the plum/purple Rouge Bunny Rouge Eye Khol in Delilah (on the right).
Pretty, right? The packaging is of course very nice as well and adds to the price of the product as well but I'm very happy with this unique colour and would definitely repurchase once I use it up.
I bought the Chanel eyeliner in Berry at my local Chanel counter (although on the US website it say that this particular shade is a Chanel.com exclusive). The SA at this particular counter is great, she really knows her stuff and the last time I went shopping there she gave me a sample of the Inimitable Intense mascara that I like a lot as well. I'm not yet sure whether I should thank her for that.
